Hello all:
For the past two weeks I've been traveling all over the states of New Jersey and New York. One thing that I am concerned about with most of all the students I have run into is that no one is doing their research. Students, you have to research the schools you are potentially going to apply to. It's always nice to get some advice from family and friends who have had experience at different colleges but that doesn't mean that that school is the right fit for you. Find out about class size, total population, dorm life, student life, etc. Most importantly, VISIT AS MANY SCHOOLS AS POSSIBLE!!! If you have the time and the school is within distance for you to travel, check it out. Reading about a school or asking others about a school will not give you the same feeling as being able to walk the halls of your future school. School tours can make or break your decision. Take my word for it, when I was looking for schools, tours completely changed my mind. I couldn't have made a better choice.

And the season continues.....
It's been a while since I've last posted. To update you on my travels, last week I visited Archbishop Spalding High School in Baltimore, MD for a day. It made me happy to see so many prospective juniors asking questions about college. This week I am in Mt. Arlington, NJ and in New York City. Mt. Arlington is a beautiful area fulled with eager seniors and juniors. The later part of the week I will spend in various areas of New York including Manhattan, Bronx, Queens, Staten Island, and Brooklyn. Who knows, I may just run into you at one of my fairs during my travels. Be sure to stop by my table and say hello.
All of this traveling has truly taught me a lot about the work of admissions. In the beginning of my travel season, I was very nervous because I wanted to be the very best that I could be. It took time to develop my style but now I am very confident about my work and want to meet more students like yourself. I guess my experiences can be compared to deciding on a college. In the beginning, you are nervous about making the right choice. After visiting various schools and learning about what is important to you, you realize that it's not so hard after all because you know what you want.

A long week
What a week it's been. It's only Tuesday but I have been on an adventure. This past weekend I was at the Long Island NACAC. That was a great fair for me. There were lots of interesting people to meet there. I also got the opportunity to see my sister and my newphews, who I haven't seen since I graduated in May. Now I am traveling to various locations in New Jersey near the Clinton area. I visit about 3-4 different schools a day. During my visits, I have met wonderful people. After this week, I'll be in Maryland (which is my first official trip there.) The week after that, I'm back in NYC doing the Big Apple College Fairs. If you are there, stop by and visit me.
